One of the great joys of being a civil celebrant, is that I am able to assist parents to make their baby naming ceremony unique to their family. There are so many creative ways that you can add a little of the colour of your family, into the ceremony. Below are a few ideas:

• A special book could be passed amongst family and friends, to allow them to write a message for the child and their family.

• Guests could be asked to bring something symbolic of their hopes and wishes for the child, and make it part of the ceremony.

• Video messages could be recorded for viewing as the child grows.

• You may have a cherished pet or pets that you would like to be included in the ceremony.
